Hanoi (VNA) – The special envoy of the Chinese Party General Secretary and President Song Tao congratulated Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on his re-election for the ❀12 th tenure during a meeting in Hanoi on January 29.
Song, who is also head of the Chinese Party Central Committee’s International Liaison Department, also conveyed Chinese Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping’s message that China wishes to foster the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with Vietnam via facilitating high-level visits, strategic exchanges and strengthening political trust.
The Chinese Party, government and people attach utmost importance to the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with Vietnam, he said, adding that both sides should realise agreements reached by leaders, increase exchanges, properly settle differences and work closely together on regional and global issues for peace, stability and prosperity in the region and the world.
The Vietnamese Party chief, in reply, affirmed that the Vietnamese Party, State and people continually value the strengthening of friendly neighbourliness and the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with China.
He expressed his desire that the two countries will well implement the agreement reached by their leaders, boost high-level and people-to-people exchanges and practical cooperation in all areas, as well as maintain peace and stability in the East Sea by specific and pragmatic actions for the basic and long-term interests of the two peoples.
Receiving Song in the afternoon of the same day, Politburo member and head of the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission Vuong Dinh Hue suggested taking steps to boost sustainable, healthy and balanced trade.
He also welcomed Chinese investors to come and do business in Vietnam’s priority industries and called for closer engagement among border areas and localities.
The guest assured Hue that China appreciates Vietnam’s concerns and stands ready to work with Vietnam on development strategy connectivity, improving production capability, infrastructure connectivity and environmental protection.
The special envoy also held talks with head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations Hoang Binh Quan, during which they agreed to continue sharing Party experience and theories, collaborating in personnel training and intensifying practical coordination among ministries and agencies towards realising signed agreements.
During the stay, the Chinese delegation also paid floral tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum.-VNA
