Hanoi (VNA) - Representatives from the Ministry of Construction and the US Embassy in Vietnam paid a working visit to the 3M Vietnam Customer Experience Centre in Hanoi on July 2, as part of efforts to promote public–private cooperation in support of key national strategic infrastructure projects
During the visit, the parties exchanged ideas on high-tech material solutions and technologies that could be applied to national strategic transport infrastructure projects, particularly the North–South high-speed railway project. The event laid the groundwork for broader collaboration between government agencies and global technology enterprises in the modernisation of Vietnam’s transport infrastructure.
3M offers a wide ecosystem of integrated solutions applicable to high-speed rail projects, including advanced and environmentally friendly materials and technologies for modern railway infrastructure; electrical solutions that enhance safety, reliability, and performance of high-speed railway power systems; and high-tech materials that support carriage production, maintenance, and repair.
Additionally, the US-based company provides eco-friendly interior and exterior decoration solutions to enhance passenger experience; smart traffic guidance, signage, and management systems; and personal protective equipment to ensure safe operation and maintenance of the railway.
3M is currently implementing traffic safety and infrastructure solutions for urban railway projects in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, as well as related infrastructure components at Tan Son Nhat International Airport’s Terminal T3. Across Asia, the corporation has also contributed to railway projects in countries such as China and Thailand.
During the working session, Hoang Thanh Nam, Deputy Director of the Department of Science, Technology, Environment, and Building Materials under the Ministry of Construction, appreciated 3M’s efforts in sharing innovative, practical, and cutting-edge technological solutions to support the design, construction, and operation of the North–South high-speed railway project in a modern, sustainable, and efficient manner.
The ministry welcomes the framework of cooperation between the Vietnamese Government and the company in applying advanced technological solutions to the development of the nation’s transport infrastructure.

Speaking at the session, NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man stressed the urgency of the amended railway law, noting the country is currently implementing many railway development projects such as the North–South high-speed railway, Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi urban rail systems, and the Lao Cai–Hanoi–Hai Phong line.
