Hanoi (VNA) - The 24th Vietnam–♋China Youth Friendship Meeting is taking place from 12 to 18 April, featuring a variety of activities with the part💎icipation of 200 delegates from both countries.
On 14 April, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee officially commenced the 24th Vietnam–China Youth Friendship Meeting 2025 at the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics in Hanoi.
Prior to the opening ceremony, senior delegates from the Central Committees of the youth organisations of both countries laid flowers at the monument of President Ho Chi Minh. They also visited a photo exhibition showcasing youth exchange and cooperation activities between the two organisations.
In his opening remarks, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Bui Quang Huy, affirmed that Vietnam and China are fraternal neighbours “sharing mountains and rivers, ideals, cultures, and destinies,” with a long-standing tradition of friendship.
He further noted that the younger generations have received due attention from the leaders of both Parties and countries to nurture and develop the traditional friendship, breathing new life and a bright future into Vietnam–China relations.

Understanding this mission, youth organisations in both countries have actively promoted Vietnam–China youth cooperation over the years, achieving significant results.
Youth training programmes, exchanges, and forums have created opportunities for thousands of young people to deepen their understanding of each other’s cultures, traditions, and customs.
These activities have not only strengthened the friendship but also fostered personal connections between young people from both sides, opening up cooperation opportunities in education, research, work, production, and business.
The 24th Vietnam–China Youth Friendship Meeting is significant in concretising the outcomes of high-level agreements and joint statements, and in promoting awareness among the younger generations of the latest developments in Vietnam–China relations.
Notably, the 2025 Vietnam–China Youth Meeting is being held during the visit of General Secretary and President of China, Xi Jinping, to Vietnam. This provides a historic opportunity for young people from both countries to meet and share experiences in youth work and movements.

Speaking at the ceremony, A Dong, First Secretary of the Communist Youth League of China Central Committee, called on the younger generation of both countries to inherit the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China.
He noted that China and Vietnam are both socialist countries led by Communist Parties, sharing common ideals and goals, and a mutual aspiration for development and modernisation.
Following the opening ceremony, the delegates participated in a forum to share their ideals.

The Vietnam–China Youth Friendship Meeting is an annual event organised alternately by the Central Committees of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Vietnam and the Communist Youth League of China since 2000.
It aims to strengthen solidarity, mutual understanding, and cooperation between young people of the two nations.
The 24th Vietnam–China Youth Friendship Meeting, held from 12 to 18 April, features a variety of activities, forums, and exchanges on topics such as entrepreneurship in the digital age, sharing youth ideals, and cultural activities in Hanoi, Ninh Binh, and Quang Ninh.

Vietnam’s participation at the meeting underscores the country’s consistent foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralisation and diversification, and proactive international integration in a broad, deep, and effective manner. It also conveys Vietnam’s ambition and determination to enter a new era - the era of the nation’s rise.
The amended law will take effect on July 1, 2025, except for provisions on civil servant evaluation in Section 3, Chapter IV, which will be implemented from January 1, 2026.
