Hanoi (VNA) – The 14th NationalAssembly adopted a resolution on socio-economic development plans for 2021 andthe Border Defence Law on November 11 during the ongoing 10th sitting in Hanoi.
The resolution on socio-economic development plans for 2021was approved with 89.21 percent of votes in favour while the Border Defence Lawreceived 92.74 percent of votes in favour.
In the morning, legislators debated in groups on the draftof the revised Law on Road Traffic and the bill on ensuring road order andsafety.
They cast votes to relieve Chu Ngoc Anh and Le Minh Hung fromtheir respective positions of Minister of Science and Technology and Governorof the State Bank of Vietnam in the afternoon.
Chu Ngoc Anh is now Vice Secretary of the Hanoi PartyCommittee and Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee while Le Minh Hungwas recently appointed Chief of the Party Central Committee’s Office by the Politburo.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc later delivered a proposalto seek the NA’s approval for the appointments of the new Minister of Scienceand Technology, Minister of Health and Governor of the central bank. ChiefJustice of the Supreme People’s Court Nguyen Hoa Binh, meanwhile, presented asimilar report on the appointment of judges at his court.
On November 12, lawmakers will discuss on a bill on forcesprotecting order and security at local level and a resolution on urbanadministration in Ho Chi Minh City in the morning.
In the afternoon, the NA deputies will vote on a resolutionon State budget estimate for 2021./.
The National Assembly (NA) on the afternoon of November 11 relieved Chu Ngoc Anh and Le Minh Hung from their respective positions of Minister of Science and Technology and Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, during the ongoing 10th session in Hanoi.
PM Pham Minh Chinh called on the SSE and the Shanghai IFC to share their expertise with and provide technical support for relevant Vietnamese ministries and agencies during the process of building Vietnam’s own international financial centre.
According to the resolution, Nguyen Thi Thanh, a member of the Party Central Committee and Vice Chairwoman of the NA, was appointed Standing Vice President of the council and head of its personnel sub-committee.

Based on the developments of disasters, epidemics, national defence and security conditions, and public order and safety, and upon proposals from relevant ministries or provincial-level People’s Committee chairpersons, the Prime Minister may request the NA Standing Committee to declare a state of emergency, according to a draft law.
