Continual heavyrain over the last few days, brought about by the northeast monsooncoupled with the southern tropical circulation, had caused heavyflooding and landslides which had completely blocked several roads insome mountainous districts in the province, leaving many areas isolated.
NguyenMinh Tuan, from Quang Nam Flood Prevention and Control Committee, saidmassive landfalls, triggered by heavy downpours, had blocked all trafficroutes in the southern part of the province.
A six-year-old boy drowned on Nov. 7, raising the total number of deaths due to flooding in the province to five.
Meanwhile,the level of the Hoai River in Hoi An, was reported to have risensignificantly since yesterday afternoon. All the major roads in the OldTown were submerged in water.
If the water continued to rise,exceeding the third warning level, evacuation orders would be issued forall over the city, particularly in highly flood-prone areas.
