To support rice production, the government has ramped up fertiliser subsidies, distributed agricultural machinery, accelerated planting schedules, and introduced digital tools for farming.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai on August 29 signed a decision asking the Ministry of Finance to allocate over 1,374 tonnes of rice from the national reserve to support farmers in the two south-central provinces of Binh Dinh and Phu Yen ahead of the harvest season.

The State Logistics Agency (Bulog) of Indonesia on December 28 reported that the Southeast Asian nation did not import rice for the third year in a row.
