As Da Dong island stands imposingly in the vast sea, neighboring Da Tay Island serves as a firm “base” for fishermen operating from the central coast to the southernmost tip of the Motherland.

Vessel 471 of the Naval Region 4 High Command on February 20 completed towing a fishing boat with engine failure to Da Tay Island for repair.

Naval Squadron 129 has said it took rescue measures on August 18 after receiving an SOS from a fishing boat coded BD 98172 TS of the south central province of Binh Dinh which was in distress in the area of Da Tay island in Vietnam’s Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago.

The KN472 fisheries resources surveillance vessel timely transferred a patient from Da Tay island to a health facility on Truong Sa island of the south central province of Khanh Hoa on December 20, according to Fisheries Resources Surveillance Division No.4.
