To clearly define cassava’s role, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has, for the first time, issued a Sustainable Development Plan for the cassava sector through 2030, with a vision extending to 2050.
The export value of Thailand’s cassava and cassava products tallied 33.2 billion THB in the first three months of 2024, down 16.4% year-on-year, said Poonpong Naiyanapakorn, director-general of the country’s Trade Policy and Strategy Office.
Vietnam witnessed a slight reduction in cassava exports during the first two months of this year due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Cassava exports in the first seven months of the year reached 1.6 million tonnes with a value of 580 million USD, a year-on-year decline of 24 percent in volume but a surge of 12.5 percent in value, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
